Role

The principal role of economic development is to implement programs, policies or activities that seek to harness local human, financial and other resources; to create and distribute wealth; to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for our community.

 

Services

Council offer a concierge service to assist business and community to help navigate the various regulatory frameworks that Council administers. This includes meetings prior to submission of development applications.

 

Economic Development Plan

In 2023, the Dungog Shire Council adopted the “Pathways to Prosperity” Economic Development Plan 2022-2026

 

Data

The Dungog Shire Council provides free access to Community Profile and Economic Profile databases for the Dungog Shire. Informed Decisions (.id) prepare these databases and convert national demographic, housing and economic trends into local stories. Council can also run economic impact assessments for business developments and events.

Dungog District Chamber of Commerce

The Dungog District Chamber of Commerce supports members and represents their business interests at the local and state level. Dungog Shire Council works in collaboration with the Chamber.
